Food for thought

Hi Michelle,
I'm finally checking my emails. I almost never read the newspaper these
days; however, I stumbled across the "lame' usage letter. Basically I just
reacted and immediately fired off an email in response. I realised that was
coming off rather strongly/critically.
My concern is that far too many "abled" and "disabled" interests are
cultivating a type of "victim-hood" to get noticed political and socially.
Adjectives, unless maliciously used, are simply adjectives. I find nothing
offensive about an accurate adjective, i.e. My hand is deformed/crippled. As
I use it to draw rather well, write rather well etc.; calling my hand
"disabled" is inaccurate.
