Bright Side

Some one I know wrote:

It’s obvious this person hasn’t lived with a disability or has recently become disabled and can’t come to terms with it. I also feel sorry for that person leaving a comment and hiding behind an anonymous posting like a coward. I can understand where they are coming from but they fail to realize that most people with a disability can’t work at 100% of their capacity. There are the few who abuse the system but this person has generalized all disabled people as those people. If they had paid attention to all the hard work you’ve put in to trying to help other people with the same issues you face, they wouldn’t have written “you are willing to accept the role of the victim.” Becoming an advocate isn’t exactly acting “the victim.” Keep up the good work,

The good thing about all this is it gave me a topic to write about. Many people have stereotyped people with disabilities as being lazy. I even know another woman with SMA who believes that her lack of progression is her “mind over matter” . True to point. Obviously that person did not read much of my blog or read the clipping#1 I had talk about my work and volunteering already # 2 I was not asking for money in the news but was called and ASKED TO COMMENT for a (Government) press release (about an increase that not every person on AISH recieved)
